Nestled in a converted Victorian house on a quiet residential street, Footsteps Day Nursery (Leytonstone) offers a cozy, homely atmosphere just a 10-minute walk from Whipps Cross Hospital. With a daily capacity for 35 children, our smaller scale allows for an inviting environment. Our well-resourced garden, proportionate to the nursery’s size, boasts ample space, natural light, and shelter—perfect for outdoor activities in all weather conditions.

Baby Room
In our Baby Room, Holly, a cherished Footsteps family member for 5 years, leads with warmth and expertise. Progressing from an apprentice to obtaining her Level 3 qualification, she is our Room Leader. Her infectious laugh and calm demeanour create a nurturing atmosphere in this space designed for ages 6 months to 2 years. It’s a joyful haven where we observe each child’s unique personality blossoming, a delightful journey of growth and discovery.
In the Toddler Room, Alison, with 5 years of dedication, smoothly transitioned from apprentice to qualified Level 3 Toddler Room Leader. Fluent in Spanish, she brings vibrant energy to the room, creating a dynamic space for playful learning and exploration for 12 toddlers aged 2 to 3 under her attentive leadership.
Toddler Room
In the Toddler Room, Alison, with 5 years of dedication, smoothly transitioned from apprentice to qualified Level 3 Toddler Room Leader. Preschool Room
Strategically situated by the garden, our Preschool Room offers seamless indoor-outdoor experiences during summer. Catering to 3 to 5-year-olds, Clare, our Room Leader and Deputy Manager, with 13 years of experience, including 6 years in leadership roles, holds a Level 6 qualification, ensuring a enriching educational environment.

About our location
Discover our nursery at 2 Preston Road, Leytonstone, E11 1NN, conveniently located for easy access. A 10-minute walk to Whipps Cross Hospital, less than 5 minutes to local shops, and a 15-minute walk to Tesco and the high street. Ample parking with no restrictions until 10 am, and a 30-minute visitor bay after 10 am. All restrictions conclude by 3 pm. A pleasant 15-minute walk brings you to Leytonstone tube station.
Caroline has a Level 3 qualification in childcare and a Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management as well as 15 years’ experience in the childcare sector. Caroline is passionate about children’s learning and is the mum of a lively 2-year-old.

Footsteps Leytonstone is a truly special place. Our two children (4 and 2) attended this setting from around 13 months and have only left because we have moved away from the area. We all loved Footsteps and our children would, quite literally, skip in through the door each morning. The staff have created an incredibly nurturing, warm and safe environment for the children in their care, and we could not be more grateful. The ethos of the nursery is caring, respectful, joyful and fun. We have been so impressed with the mental, emotional and physical development of our kids under their care and are so sad to leave. They made wonderful friendships and formed very strong bonds with staff and their peers. When looking for a nursery, we wanted somewhere where our children were safe, happy and loved. Absolutely amazing nursery, only left due to move back to Ireland. We have our son now is a nursery reputed to be one of the best in this city, but our footsteps experience was still much better. We all (son, mum and dad) miss them very much!
Footsteps Leytonstone was our daughters second home for 4 years. Every member of staff provided caring considerate and importantly fun support to her during these essential years. I couldn’t recommend this nursery enough to everyone. We miss everyone there already and are so grateful for the nursery’s support for both our daughter and us! Thank you!
Our daughter has just finished 3 years here and enjoyed every minute! The staff are all fantastic - caring, friendly and very efficient. The setting is lovely with great facilities and outdoor space. Communication with parents is excellent, always succint and relevant. Cannot recommend highly enough.
It’s an excellent nursery. Management and staff are very supportive and kind. My daughter had a great time learning new things everyday and making some wonderful friends. We received our daughter’s progress daily via the app. We would highly recommend it.
Sending our son to Footsteps Day Nursery has been one of the best decisions we have made for him. The staff are unbelievably kind and caring as well as accommodating. They truly enjoyed supporting him during this part of his journey. The community at Footsteps is also very strong, ensuring he made great friends and has had the best start to pre-school as possible.

We love the fact that the price is pretty much all inclusive, so no extra nappy costs, suncream, packed lunch or food costs. This compares very well to some of our friend's nurseries where the parents have to supply everything. Highly recommend.

We’ve had 2 children at Footsteps over four years and really couldn’t have wished for better care for them during their early years. The staff are engaging and caring and the management has always been very communicative and responsive. Our kids loved it there and our experience has been so positive.

We really cannot stress how brilliant Footsteps have been during the pandemic. And indeed prior to this. Professional, caring and facilitating. They are an excellent nursery and we would highly recommend them.
